We Make Best Friends for Life!

We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.
~ Immanual Kant

Welcome to Laughing Paws Inc!

Have you ever watched a feel food animal movie where they used a choke collar or physically punished the animal during the training process?  Neither have we.  Instead, the wise character, usually the animal trainer, or the one teaching the animal trainer how to train, talks about earning the animal's trust, being patient, allowing the animal to think it through, becoming one with the animal and learning how listen to what the animal is saying.  It's all about developing a deep and everlasting bond between the person-often the kid- and the animal hero.

"The Horse Whisperer"

"The Yearling"

"Lassie Come Home"

"My Dog Spot"

"Air Bud"

"Free Willy"

"8 Below"
One of my favs

"Old Yeller"

"The Black Stallion"

"Seabiscuit"

"Hidalgo"
Possibly the best ever.

Isn't the main story in ALL of these movies the Bond that develops between the person and the animal based on winning the animals' trust, developing mutual respect, cementing a mutual affection and  Both of them becoming the best that they can be?

Don't these stories make our hearts soar because we know instinctively that that's how it's supposed to be between ourselves and our animal companions?  Isn't this legendary bond the goal each time we bring a new pup or rescue dog home with us?

Corduroy and I think so.

About the only thing that these movies get wrong is that you have to be somehow 'special' to develop that kind of bond with an animal.  You don't have to have some mystical quality about you, you just have to be open to doing it.

While we may not fulfill the "Wise Advisor" role perfectly,  we can teach you and your dog how to develop that kind of legendary bond with one another.  To put it simply, that's what we do.  We make best friends for life.
